Fertility awareness is the process of knowing when you are the most fertile so that your chances of conception are the best. There are multiple ways by which you can check and know when you will be most fertile.

  • Calendar Method – as the name suggests, this method involves keeping a track of the menstrual cycle dates. This should be followed for at least 8 to 12 cycles to help form a trend. However, this method works on women who have a cycle that isn't shorter than 27 days.
  • Standard days method (SDM ) – This is essentially a variation of the calendar technique that uses colorful beads ( also known as Cycle Beads) by way of which women can keep track of their cycles.
  • Basal Body Temperature - this method uses the basis that a women's basal body temperature (BBT) is the lowest just a day or two before ovulation. If this is measured regularly, it's possible to understand the best possible time to get pregnant. The temperature is measured in the morning for around 5 minutes
  • Cervical Mucus Check – cervical mucus consistency and thickness changes just before ovulation and after your period. Post period, it is of a viscous nature , cloudy and sticky. Pre ovulation, the mucus acquires a thin and clear structure.
